Aldi Romford Collier Row opened on 6 Nov 2008 - the second Romford store overseen by area manager Gemma Sowter. Managing the new store is the responsibility of Rob Hatton, whose whole family turned up to support. The fantastic new staff worked till the early hours of Thursday morning to get the store ready and some only had time to go home for a quick shower before returning for the opening.
It was a 'Gold Ticket' event, which was a great success as the pre-opening queue showed. The first 30 customers got a surprise present and one was particuarly pleased! It was cold but stayed dry for most of the day for Serendipity to perform. The songs and the tills rang out consistently and it was another fabulous day. Well done to Gemma, Rob and everyone who worked so hard.
