Hi
and welcome to Serendipity News On Line!
|
Sorry that it is so long since our last newsletter. We are still alive and well and have just come back from a fantastic week’s rest in Menorca. Did you miss us? As you can see, Stuart did very little as usual!
For those of you who would like to see where we went, we have a few more select pics on our Face Book Site. (Search under ‘Serendipity Duo’). We encourage you to become our FB Friends to keep in touch and get the latest news and exclusive pictures.
Scroll down for much more info and pictures - including an update on our music video!
Best Wishes

We finished April playing at the 60th Birthday of our dear friend Sue Baker (pictured). Sue is a great singer and couldn’t resist playing a few songs during the evening. It was a great fun evening enjoyed by all her family and friends. |

A VERY POSH DO!
Institute of British Toastmasters Presidential Banquet
Posh (with a capital P) was the evening held at the Manor of Groves Hotel, Sawbridgeworth, and the Annual Dinner of the Institute of British Toastmasters. The host for the evening was Jonathan Wyner, pictured with his lovely wife Amanda. Despite there being so many Toastmasters present we did manage to sing a couple of songs in between speeches.

ALDI EAST GRINSTEAD
Just before our holiday we were excited to be part of another Aldi Store opening – this time in East Grinstead.
Pictured are the 4 people who were already in the queue when we arrived. But if you want to find out what time the first customer was at the store and how many were waiting to get in at opening time click here : - www.serendipity.eu.com/aldi_eastgrinstead.htm
GIG REVIEW
The last gig for a while at The Crown in Manningtree happened in May as well, as they don’t have music during the summer. If you missed it you missed out! It was a great afternoon and we played for 2 ½ hours without a break, which included at least 15 minutes of encores. Thanks to everyone who came to make it such a special time. At the moment we are afraid that the next chances to see us at a public gig are not until 5th and 15th August. If this changes we will let you know. But particularly encourage you to put 15th August in your diary when we play our annual home gig in the Colchester Castle Park. Details of this and all our gigs are on the web site : - www.serendipity.eu.com/gigs.htm

Line Dancing Champions
And the prize for the biggest number of Line Dancers at one time goes to ..... Clacton Conservative Club, where we played as a last minute cancellation on 8 May.
We must confess we were a little concerned at the mature audience how paid to come to the upstairs bar to see us. But by the end of the evening it’s fair to say that the dance floor was not empty from the 2nd song on and we were made incredibly welcome by everyone there with 3 more invites to perform there before the end of the year!

VIDEO UPDATE
And finally, we have some good news! The Videos we shot at Roberts Night Club are nearly ready. The editing has taken an age and there is still some final tweaking to do. Our Director (Alan Matthias Pictured on the right with his second camera man Paul, has been working hard and gave us the ‘nearly final’ videos last night. A couple need some work and the best one – of our Rock Set, is still to be sorted. However we have uploaded the ‘nearly final’ Dance Set and Madness Set’s to You Tube already, so if you want a look ... www.serendipity.eu.com/watch.htm
That’s all for the moment. We hope you enjoyed reading our latest newsletter and as always value your comments and feedback.
Best Wishes |
